In their second year of the Radcliffe Chamber Music Residency at the University of Oxford, the Villiers are one of the most charismatic and adventurous quartets of the British chamber music scene.
Named after Villiers Street in London’s colourful musical epicentre, the Villiers Quartet encompasses the grand and iconic spirit of the extraordinary music tradition in London. They have developed an international reputation for their performances of English composers, and this performance will feature works by Elgar, Delius, Mendelssohn and one of the UK’s finest but sadly neglected post-war composers, Peter Racine Fricker.
James Dickenson – violin
Tamaki Higashi – violin
Carmen Flores – viola
Nick Stringfellow – cello
